ABOUT CHÒPNBLỌK
ChòpnBlọk is a restaurant and cultural movement reimagining how the world experiences West Africa. Founded by James Beard Foundation Semifinalist Ope Amosu, the concept began as a grassroots pop-up and has since evolved into a celebrated dining destination with two Houston locations-a flagship in Montrose and a stall inside POST Houston’s Food Hall. In 2025, ChòpnBlọk was named to The New York Times’ “Best Restaurants in America” list, featured on Eater and Esquire’s “Best New Restaurants”, and awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand, further solidifying its place on the national stage. On a mission to make its culture more accessible and build community along the way, each dish blends heritage and innovation, bringing together fresh proteins, vegetables, grains, and beverages that make West African foodways part of everyday life. More than a restaurant, ChòpnBlọk is a platform that celebrates identity and builds belonging one meal at a time.
